Today's topic was the sense of touch. So after Gratitude Circle, we played "Find that Object" (where they had to match specific shapes to a puzzle board using only their sense of touch). Then we discussed how the sense of touch works and how some animals feel through their whiskers, antennae or tentacles.
Next they did a “Build it Blindfolded Challenge”. Using sticks and balls they built a square using eyesight first and then without. We also did a second round of building a triangle with the balls and sticks blindfolded.
Then we practiced their original play, ate snack and went to obstacle course.
Next we moved on to the sense of smell and discussed how our nose works and how animals smell similar or differently from us. Then they did a team challenge "Name That Smell". They had to identify 5 different fruits using only their sense of smell.
Then we had lunch and hiked to the creek.
