Nature Detectives Day 2

After Gratitude Circle, we played “Recharge Hustle” (tag game where if tagged you have to complete a balloon challenge to “recharge” and get back in). 

Then we continued our adventure from yesterday. They used a riddle in the journal that led them to the obstacle course where they found darts to pop balloons with clues inside them that they taped together and placed over tree cards to get a number for the lock box. The box had supplies for a circuit challenge. After each explorer completed the challenge (make a LED light turn on by making a complete copper tape circuit) they received a puzzle piece. The puzzle made a letter with directions that led them to the wick and fuel holder for the Stirling engine from yesterday. 

Then we had snack, went to the obstacle course and added more to their play. 

For the afternoon activity they continued making their automatons. 

Then we ate lunch, went to the creek and had a little free time to play basketball, soccer, archery, volleyball, badminton etc. during dismissal.
