Lovely Land Day 3

After Gratitude Circle we played “Animal Architects” (a relay game where teams had to match up the animals and their homes we talked about yesterday). Then I talked about the Emergent and Canopy layer of the rainforest with specific flora and fauna in each layer (like Harpy eagle, Sugar glider, Howler monkey, etc) while they glued and colored their books. During snack we worked on finishing their play and then went to the obstacle course.   Then we finished the last two layers of their Rainforest book (the Understory and Forest Floor) before playing “Who Lives There?” (similar to 4 corners but with layers of rainforest). Lastly, we ate lunch and went to the creek.
