After Gratitude Circle, we played a game of Eagle Eye. Then we discussed why Polar Days and Polar Nights occur (6 months of darkness and 6 months of constant daytime on Earth’s poles because of the tilt of the Earth's axis). Next we explored what might happen to wildlife in Georgia if this were to occur here and played a Polar Nights and Days relay. There were 6 parts of a food chain on the field that they had to find and put in order from the sun to producers to consumers. Then we practiced and recorded their original play “The Story of the Eventful Summer Solstice”. There will be a private link for parents to view it. Then we had a snack and went to the obstacle course. Next we discussed what a solar eclipse is and how it happens. I demonstrated with a model to show the Moon casting a shadow onto the Earth.  Then we looked at the artist Vincent Bal’s artwork and made our own Shadowology Art using the Sun’s shadows and our imagination. After lunch and going to the creek, they performed their original play for parents and guardians. At the creek Josh and Hudson found a bird nest with little eggs! See pic below
