We started with Gratitude Circle and then played Bibbity Bibbity Bop. Next we did the first step in an art project to create their own constellation. As the paint dried, we discussed what a star and constellation is and acted out four constellation myths (Ursa Major and Minor, Bootes, Scorpius and Cassiopeia) as they found and marked the constellation on their “June 2026 Sky Chart”. They will take the chart home with them so they can try and find the constellations we learned about at home in their current positions in the sky. Then I squeezed in an activity we missed yesterday with lasers and mirrors to go along with the theme of the sunlight reflecting off the Moon. After snack break and obstacle course, they finished their glow in the dark scratch art projects we had started on Monday when we talked about bioluminescent organisms and nocturnal animals. Then they finished their Constellation Art from this morning by connecting the stars and making up a myth to go with it. During lunch they finished their original play. Then we went to the creek. Some explorers went in small groups to explore new parts of the creek, others caught minnows, played with clay or worked on various digging projects LOL! During dismissal some played baseball, theatre games, Kubb, volleyball 4 square or Legos.
