After Gratitude Circle, we discussed moon phases and played Simon Says Moon Phases since today focuses on the Moon. Next we discussed the Giant Impact Hypothesis for How the Moon possibly formed. Then we played Among Us on the Moon (various tasks spread across Little Rose needed to be completed to fix their spaceship and return safely to Earth). After the game, we took a snack break and went to the obstacle course. Then we talked about past, current and future missions to the Moon and they completed a Moon Crater STEAM Challenge (in teams they were given limited resources to design, build and test a way to place a ball in the center of a 6 ft diameter without stepping into the circle). The engineering challenge represented NASA placing a rover in the middle of the Apollo Lunar Crater. Next was lunch and they added more to their original play. Then we hiked to explore the creek and cool off. We saw a red-eared slider turtle on the trail! Pic below. Lastly, some explorers did croquet, Kubb or 4 square volleyball during dismissal. Oh, and the last pic are some of the Guiros they made on Monday.
